Gary Daum
Caricature Artist

Gary Daum is a Pacific Northwest native. Born in Seattle, WA on Valentine's Day, he began his art career when he was 5 using color crayons on his bedroom wall(his father was not as impressed as young Gary was).

He attended Burnley School of Professional Art(1974-1976) after 2 years of honorably serving the U.S. Army. He was hired at Boeing in 1977, where he worked until 2003 as a graphic artist/illustrator. While there, he did hundreds of caricatures for retiring Boeing employees.

His entry in Seattle's "Bite of Seattle" logo contest was chosen in 1986.

Gary prefers watercolor to any other media, what with its ever changing blends and rich, vibrant colors. He recently illustrated a local baseball history book titled, "Wide Awakes, Invincibles & Smokestackers", by Anacortes author David Larson.

His wife Karen and he have been together for 33 years, and he owes a debt of gratitude and thanks for her patience, support and love.

Gary and Karen live on Camano Island, WA
